Kreon Onyx measuring arm
The new Kreon ONYX measuring arm manages the 3D acquisition of parts with efficiency and accuracy and allows you to perform 3D measurements of parts and tools reaching an unprecedented level of precision.
Onyx is very versatile, thanks to the ability to measure both in probing and with a 3D scanner, and can be used both in the metrology room and in the workshop. Lightweight and portable, Onyx is suitable for all applications (quality control, dimensional and shape verification, reverse engineering, etc.) and can be used in all industrial sectors (automotive, aeronautics, etc.). In addition, the light weight and ergonomics of the carbon fiber arm offer comfort of use with unprecedented productivity gains.

UNPRECEDENTED EASE OF USE
To ensure the best possible user experience, KREON has developed the the EasyClip handle that can be removed at the touch of a button. In this way, the dimensions of the end of the arm are reduced, thus making difficult-to-reach areas accessible and measurable. In addition, the QuickView touchscreen at the base of the arm gives you close control over the measurement process. QuickView provides the user with an overview of the measurement conditions by displaying the battery level, ambient temperature and arm status, via WiFi and Bluetooth control. For wireless operation, the Onyx measuring arm is also equipped with a hot swappable battery, without interrupting your workflow.
EXCEPTIONAL PRECISION
The 6-axis version of the Onyx arm is up to 20% more accurate than the 7-axis version. This arm is also the most accurate in the Kreon range.
FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT
Axis 6 is extremely mobile with its 360 ° range and can easily reach the underside of certain assemblies or the inside of rabbets.

High resolution encoder
To provide an exceptional level of accuracy, the Onyx measuring arm incorporates high resolution encoders. The angle formed by each axis of the arm is thus better determined and each position of the arm during movement is calculated with great precision.
OPTIMAL PRECISION IN ANY CONDITION
- Temperature sensors
Thanks to the sensors located in the arm, the temperature is constantly monitored and compensated so that any expansion of the elements of the arm linked to temperature variations does not affect the accuracy of the measurements. - Complies with ISO 10360-12
All Onyx measuring arms are verified tested according to the ISO 10360-12 standards. This standard provides assurance that the declared measurement accuracies are respected during the tests.What is the ISO 10360-12 standard? - Software block for axes 2, 4 and 6
When axes 2, 4 and 6 are constrained, they can induce measurement deviations. To overcome this, the measurements made are automatically interrupted when you approach the stop of these axes. However, depending on your needs and requirements, these limitations can be disabled.
